I am DAVID GONCALVES
David’s passion for soul and gospel runs very deep. It all started at age 10 with joining a gospel choir, his first encounter with music. Never in a million years could David dream nor expect that later in his career he got the chance to work with the following (gospel) artists: Kim Burrell, Edwin Hawkins, Earth Wind and Fire, Rashaan Patterson, The Family Stand and India Arie, whether sharing the stage or even working in the studio. David Goncalves started as a songwriter before he really got on stage.
Inspired by his huge passion for Soul, Jazz and Gospel, he found his own voice. Started writing at the age of 14, he wanted to eclectically fuse soul & r&b with his passion for house. His first track ‘A star is born’, a collaboration with house-duo ‘Chocolate Puma’, was released in 2003.
Directly followed with the release of the album ‘Release yourself’ (2003) a collaboration with the renowned Roger Sanchez.

In 2004 David’s first solo project in the Netherlands emerged with the release of ‘Running away’ produced and written by Alain Clark and Allan Eshuijs.
In 2005 the single ‘Always & Forever’ (also a collaboration with house duo Chocolate Puma) became an international smash hit. These lyrics were also written by David Goncalves. Many huge house dj’s and producers; R3hab, Bob Sinclair, David Vendetta, Mastiksoul, Gregor Salto (and many more) wanted to work with David Goncalves. Touring around the globe and the many performances made David an authentic top notch multi talented entertainer, always inspiring and giving his best.
