I am DAVID GONCALVES
From a youthful age David was fascinated by theatre and plays, therefore he pursued an education for arts and theatre to feed his passion for acting. Until David had to cease all music activities due to practical reasons.
The least for a few years. Fortunately not for too long: Albert Verlinde, Dutch famous Musical producer discovered David’s early on ignited talent for acting. He saw the actor in him, that David himself had neglected for quite some time.
David trusted Albert Verlinde’s insight and worked with him as an actor for various musicals: ‘Daddy Cool’-The Musical “(the Pastor / Boney M’ singer), ‘Dreamgirls’ (CC). Newspapers soon reviewed him as the up-and-coming acting talent.
Meanwhile David successfully attempted to combine his love for soul and theatre by joining ‘The Soulbrothers’ theatre tour (Netherlands). Followed up by ‘The Soul and Disco Brothers’. Which catalyzed David to found the act ‘Soulm3n’ (booked for parties and celebrations).
Directly followed up by his biggest theatre achieved so far: the principal role ‘Mufasa’ in the worldwide highest-grossing musical and Disney theatre production ‘The Lion
King’ (Netherlands). This version of ‘The Lion King’ won two times ‘The best Dutch Musical Award’ at the Musical Award Gala in The Netherlands. Currently David plays in several dutch television series. But it won’t be long until we’ll see him back on the theatre stage. And If it’s up to David, he’ll even play on the big screen!
